The Protocol provides that a souvenir medal
shall be presented to all contestants and officials. To ensure a good subject
being obtained for these medals the design was entrusted to Mr. J. C. WIENECKE,
a well-known Dutch medallist. The design done by him was found suitable
after a few slight alterations and a bronze medal made by the firm of GERRITSEN
& VAN KEMPEN at Zeist; 5139 of these souvenirs were given to those
who were entitled according to the terms of the Protocol, and 762 to persons
who had rendered some special service to the Committee or were in some
way closely connected with the Committee and who it was known would value
such a medal.
