Alongside the distribution of the emblem, work began in mid-1970 on the commercial use of the official Olympic mascot, "Waldi". Up to April 1, 1972 there were about 50 Waldi licensees. The Waldi producers had to pay a minimum licensing fee in advance. The task of the OC was not so much to acquire new contracts, as rather to promote sales volume in order to profit from higher licensing income. Minimum licensing fees 245,000,-
